West Brom have not made any contact with Coventry City over Mark Robins

West Brom have not made any contact with Coventry City over their manager Mark Robins, according to Coventry Live.

Steve Bruce was sacked by West Brom on Monday morning (10/10) and the search for a new boss has intensified with numerous names linked to the Albion job.

There were suggestions on social media that Robins could potentially jump ship for West Brom from Coventry, nonetheless, it appears those rumors have been squashed.

The report says West Brom have not made any contact with Robins over his vacant managerial post and are looking “elsewhere” for replacement Bruce.

Coventry are currently at the bottom of the Championship table and although Robins is doing a fantastic job with the Sky Blues, they are struggling this campaign.

Pass.

Every time there is a vacancy in the Championship Robin’s name pops up, it’s no coincidence, the manager is extremely classy and has done a fantastic job at Coventry.

Whether he was the right man to change Albion’s fortunes is, however, debatable, especially given his side’s current position in the Championship.

It is likely that Baggies tight owner Guochuan Lai was unwilling to pay Robins the compensation to keep him away from Coventry.

Robins, however, would have added a different dimension and style of play to Albion and promoted the promising youth within the ranks of West Brom.

His time at the Building Society Stadium has become stale this season, but there’s no denying the tremendous job he’s done with the Sky Blues since 2017.

Getting a Ligue 2 side to the Championship in three seasons is no mean feat, and those who don’t care about Robins’ links should show the manager some respect.
