ORLANDO, Florida. – Over the next 60 days, Florida lawmakers will decide what legislation will affect your daily life.
The Florida Legislature opened its 2022 regular session on Tuesday in Tallahassee. The Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate are constitutionally required to pass only one law in each session: a balanced budget.

However, there is more than 3,500 invoices for debate, although it probably won’t even make it to committee without a helping hand from those who want it.
So if there is an issue that is important to you, now is the time to reach out to your representatives and let them know which issues are important to you.
How to find lawmakers in your state
Like members of the United States Congress, each is assigned a representative and a senator from Florida based on their place of residence.
To find out who represents you in the Florida Legislature, Florida House’s website has a search tool. It shows you your federal and state legislators based solely on your address. It also provides their contact details.
Many Florida lawmakers are also active on social media, particularly Facebook and Twitter.
