Changes in COVID-19 testing and contact tracing | rowan today

As confirmed cases of COVID-19 decline in Rowan, New Jersey and across the country, we are implementing University-wide changes to our approach to testing and contact tracing.

Test
Effective Monday, February 21, Hollybush Mansion will no longer be a symptomatic COVID-19 testing site. Any student showing symptoms of the virus should contact the Wellness Center at 856-256-4333 to arrange testing.

Until May 5, asymptomatic testing will continue every Wednesday and Thursday for any unvaccinated student or employee or any student or employee wishing to be tested. Testing will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday at Chamberlain Student Center’s Owl’s Nest.

Contact tracing
Rather than conduct contact tracing investigations of every positive case within our University community, the Wellness Center will instead rely on any Rowan student or employee who tests positive to personally notify their contacts. The Wellness Center will provide those who test positive with information on how to inform their circle of contacts. The University’s contact tracing group will no longer conduct active contract tracing investigations.

Remaining in force
As we continue to assess a number of factors and monitor our cases, the University’s daily masking and screening protocols will remain in place for the time being.

Finally, anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 should always report their positive test to the University. Students and employees must report here. Reporting is necessary as Rowan continues to update our website and submit weekly status reports.

To stay healthy
As always, the best way to protect yourself against serious illnesses is to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and get vaccinated. Click here for information on vaccination.

To advance
Rowan’s Wellness team meets several times a week to review the University’s positive case count, assess statewide and national trends, and consider changes to our pandemic protocols. Throughout the semester, we will communicate any future changes to the University community.

A healthy Rowan is a successful Rowan. Please continue to take all precautions to keep you and our community healthy and safe this spring.
