Depending on the availability of community resources to combat COVID-19, the Office of Health Security will terminate some of its services. Please read the following information carefully.
COVID-19 testing
The Office of Health Security’s COVID-19 testing site, which allowed individuals to register for self-administered PCR tests, will close and these tests will no longer be offered. The last day of testing is Wednesday, May 11.
The Nebraska Medicine UNO Health Center will continue to offer COVID-19 testing to symptomatic individuals after telemedicine screening. Additionally, testing sites are widely available throughout the Omaha metro area. A list of these sites can be found on the Douglas County Health Department website.
Contact tracing
The Office of Health Security’s contact tracing team, which advised people on isolation and quarantine advice and support, will close and people will be asked to contact the County Health Department. Douglas (DCHD) or their local health department. The last day for contact tracing through the UN is Thursday 12 May.
More information about the DCHD contact tracing program is available on their website. You can also contact the DCHDs COVID-19 Information Line at 402.444.3400. For residents outside of Douglas County, please contact your local public health department.
Also effective May 12, the UN COVID Dashboard will be discontinued and the UN will no longer require individuals on the UN campus to report their COVID-19 status to the Office of Health Security.

Students in on-campus residence should contact DCHD for guidance on quarantine/isolation. If they have additional questions or concerns after contacting DCHD, they can contact the UNO Housing and Scott Housing teams.
